Me with my paintings
When I think of the JUNGLE, the first thing that comes to mind is the incredible abundance of tropical plants, lush, vibrant, and full of life. It’s no coincidence that people living in colder climates often fill their homes with tropical greenery, creating their own little piece of paradise.
While working on this botanical series, I found myself reflecting on the many different moods of nature and how closely our own emotions follow those rhythms.
Sometimes the jungle is filled with bright sunlight and vivid colors. It radiates energy, joy, and vitality, making us feel awake and alive.

Sometimes it becomes a peaceful place by the ocean, where time seems to slow down. In those moments we feel calm, present, and completely immersed in the quiet flow of life.

And sometimes the tropics are wrapped in soft morning mist, painted in gentle muted tones. They create a feeling of comfort, stability, protection, and grounding.

Then there are mysterious tropical nights, inviting us to explore the unknown and awaken our curiosity about hidden worlds.

Alongside my experiments with color and its emotional impact, I also explored the forms of the plants themselves. Could they possess unusual qualities? Could they exist both underwater and on land? These questions inspired me to invent my own imaginary botanical species, abstract organic forms that exist somewhere between reality and fantasy.

The technique behind this series became just as important as the imagery itself. This was the collection where I first began incorporating hand-crocheted cotton lace as an artistic medium, together with linen, denim, and even vintage buttons. Tactility has become one of the defining characteristics of my work. I love using materials that still carry the warmth of human hands and the memory of their previous life.

Every textile and lace element is carefully stabilized with acrylic paint and acrylic varnish, allowing it to maintain its shape while becoming a permanent part of the artwork.

I coat the lace with acrylic paint so that it holds its shape
Collage also plays an important role in my process. Rather than using magazine cutouts or ready-made decorative papers, I create every textured paper myself. I dilute oil paints to a fluid consistency and transfer them onto paper through the surface of water, creating rich organic patterns that can never be exactly repeated. I produce many of these sheets, selecting the perfect colors, textures, and rhythms before they become part of the final composition.

The final details are then developed with acrylic paint, bringing all the layers together into a unified botanical world.

Finishing touches: adding the final details to the composition with acrylic colors
This is how the «JUNGLE SERIES» comes to life: through intuition, experimentation, texture, and a deep fascination with the endless imagination of nature.
